This time last year — when all the planes were grounded, and the only sound over the Brooklyn skies was birdsong — my teachers started describing the much-needed return of the dark goddesses.
At the time I could only imagine that as some kind of cosmic metaphor designed to stretch my boxily Yang-ish mind.
