Where are they headed next?

Elephants in Brooklyn

Existential Strips #15

Like everyone, I have been riveted to my socials all week following the story of the mysterious troop of elephants that materialized out of cartoon space and came trekking through New York City.

Theories abound on what exactly they’re up to … but the consensus seems to be that they’re here because art ultimately imitates life.

Some snapshots on their journey from the page to the Big Apple …

………

First stop sees them getting their shot on at some random YMCA deep in the heart of Queens …

After much initial confusion at check-in, it quickly became clear that with hive mind they had scheduled but one appointment between the bunch.

A beautiful, Florence Nightingale-esque nurse, descended directly from African royalty, diagnosed the problem and did the honors for every last one …

Next stop — Brooklyn food — primal motivation for materialization of any art-species.

No mere pineapples and corn for these pachyderms, not even close…

According to staff at Juniors, a record 4,237 lbs of cheesecake was consumed in a single sitting …

Then, in classic trunk-to-tail chain, they headed over the bridge (into the bike lane, and the silent consternation of many Millennial cyclists) and toward the the Uptown 4–5–6 train …

The dominant male and two females of the troop were last seen entering the headquarters of Creative Artists Agency for a 4pm with one of their top guys.

The rest hung back, wondering somewhat passive-aggressively if seeking agency representation was in fact the right next move.

But their mumblings were rudely interrupted by an excited mob of iPhone-wielding selfie-hunters … or, as they have become virally dubbed, #Elphies …

……………….

Thank You.
